Library & Literary Activities

The Bal Bhavan Library is a vibrant learning space designed to nurture reading habits and intellectual curiosity among children. With a collection of over 12,000 books in English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Marathi, the library caters to children aged 5–16 years. The collection includes classics, adventure stories, fairy tales, comics, general knowledge, and reference books.

Along with reading, the centre regularly organizes activities that help children develop language skills, creativity, and confidence in expression. These programmes encourage a love for literature while expanding children’s knowledge and imagination.

Innovative Science Club

To develop a positive attitude and understanding of science, what children truly need is curiosity—the willingness to ask “How?” and “Why?”—along with a strong desire to learn. With the belief that “Science is Fun,” the Science Club is designed to nurture this curiosity in meaningful and engaging ways.

A wide range of activities that explore principles from various branches of science, all connected to everyday life are organized.These activities help satisfy children’s natural curiosity while making learning interactive and enjoyable. Regular workshops on robotics, drone-making, and coding further enhance their practical knowledge and skills.

The Science Workshop serves as an open platform where children can experiment, play, and learn through hands-on experiences. It provides valuable insights into scientific concepts and encourages active participation.

The center aims to cultivate a scientific temper and a positive learning attitude among children. As part of this initiative, the Astronomy Club sparks interest in space, while environmental activities build awareness and inspire children to care for and protect nature.

Creative Arts

Creativity is a natural part of every child’s growth. At Bal Bhavan, the Creative Arts programme provides children with a vibrant space to explore their imagination, express their ideas, and develop artistic skills.

Through engaging activities and hands-on learning, children are encouraged to experiment with colors, textures, and materials while building confidence and aesthetic appreciation.

Regular workshops introduce children to both traditional and contemporary art forms such as Warli, Madhubani, Rangoli, Printing, Glass Painting, Paper Mache, Pottery, Terracotta, Mural Making, and Best Out of Waste. Competitions are organized to celebrate creativity and showcase young talent

Indoor and Outdoor Sports Coaching

The children's Sports facilities at Bal Bhavan with its indoor and outdoor facilities occupies a special status in the programmes and activities of Bal Bhavan. Bal Bhavan offers systematic and scientific coaching in various indoor and outdoor games and sports.

A special feature of the indoor sports stadium is that it houses three Badminton courts built along international standards. Indoor games include Badminton, Table Tennis, Karate, Squash and Chess.

Outdoor sports include coaching in Athletics, Cricket, Lawn Tennis (the Tennis center houses five synthetic courts), Basketball , and Skating

Several District, State and National level selections and tournaments in various sports are held at Bal Bhavan every year. The players of the center have the benefit of procuring coaching by NIS coaches and experienced coaches. Baroda District Championships are organized in various sports at BalBhavan.

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts programme at Bal Bhavan encourages children to explore creativity through music, dance, and theatre. These activities help build confidence, stage presence, and self-expression while nurturing an appreciation for the arts.

Children learn through engaging sessions in classical dance , Vocal and instrumental music and workshops in drama include exercises, improvisation, performances etc. Western dance classes are also offered.

The centre also offers certificate courses in classical music and dance in affiliation with Bruhad Gujarat Sangeet Samiti, Ahmedabad, providing children with structured learning and recognised certification. Regular competitions and performances give children the opportunity to showcase their talent.

Special Events and Tournaments

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
